I'm stoked about my new Nelo Quattro which has just arrived. It's hard to believe it's the first new K1 I've ever owned! The design looks great and the finish it awesome. All Nelo craft are absolutely top quality. I have no excuses if it doesn't go super fast! www.neloaustralia.com.au

5 WEEKS TO GO
NSW & Qld Kayak State Titles are done. NSW States tested us as the first hit out for 2012. Most paddlers from around the country competed, as well as Paul Wycherley from the UK and a couple of Italians. We won the K4 1000m and I was happy to make the K1 1000m final as well and put in a solid performance.

It was good to see some old faces racing. My Beijing K4 teammates Robbo & Schuey having a race.
Our K4 stayed in Penrith for a quick camp (best camp ever) before heading up to Kawana Waters for Qld States.
Training's on track for selection, which is only 5 weeks away. We'll be heading back down to Penrith 1-4 March 2012. I'm pumped to race. Olympic trials are some of the biggest races you can do. Check out www.oceania.canoe.org.au for details.

NEW TEAM
I'm very excited to have joined the Slipstream Team. www.slipstreamsurf.com.au I'm looking forward to racing the Surf X single ski. Good friend Gavin Clark has welcomed me on board, and the Slipstream ski is exactly what I have been looking for. It's overall speed and acceleration is second to none, I really feel I can get this ski running very fast. Also the transition from my kayak to ski is very easy as the seating position is higher than your feet, which allows me to get over my stroke and put more power on the catch. The most important design I notice in the ski, is it's ability to hold waves. The tail allows the ski to track really nice down a wave and gives great control.
