FIRST ROUND OF OLYMPIC SELECTION DONE

We've just returned from a week in Penrith. Our first round of Olympic team selection. We won the K4 1000m, with a sub for David Smith, who's out with sickness at the moment. Ken Wallace stepped in for him. It's good to have the first win under the belt.

The selection policy is basically a 'best of 3 races' system for each crew. The first round was Oceania www.oceania.canoe.org.au ..the next round will be Australian National Titles, in less than 2 weeks, (and then if a decider is required it will be done during Aussies as well).

So we've got less than 2 weeks before we race again in Penrith. There were some major problems with weed on the course for Oceania, which made things pretty unfair in some of the races, so hopefully they're able to clear up the course before Nationals.
